However, recently, press photographers from all over the world have started displaying their works at exhibitions as well.
Street Photography: This is all about capturing candid images of public places or even people in their natural element. Henri Cartier-Bresson used the technique of wrapping the camera inside his handkerchief. Sports Photography: This genre of photography is dedicated completely to capturing the best images in action, for any kind of sport. A photographer, in this case, should have the knack to capture stunning images on camera with great speed. There are many photographers who have dedicated themselves completely to this segment. These photographs are mainly used by publishing houses and other branches of media.

War photography.

War photography is about capturing photographs that depict the situations at war in terms of the people or the particular instance. Here, the photographers are always at risk and often the target of the warring groups. Unfortunately this is the only way of creating war photography, but because of the fast moving and quick movements, most work is created on small camera’s such as old film camera’s which give a really good black and white effect.

Photography was used to record historical information, but not always in the optimistic way that was conceived at the advent of the medium.The first war photographer was an anonymous American who took a number of daguerrotypes during the Mexican – american war, in 1847, of the occupation of Saltillo. The first known war photographer is the Hungarian- Romanian Carol popp de Szathmari who took photos of various officers in 1853 and of war scenes near Oltenita and Sillitra in 1854, during the Crimean war.

Portrait photography is all about capturing the mood of a person, with an emphasis on the face and expression of a person. This style of photography need not only be about professional models, it can encompass any kind of a person. Family portrait photographs are quite popular today. There are many creative ways a photographer can use to make a portrait photograph look stunning, such as setting, lighting and equipment. Many portrait photographers of today use studios and lighting to create high contrast and quality shots.

Portrait photography or portraiture is photography of a person or group of people that displays the expression, personality, and mood of the subject. Like other types of portraiture, the focus of the photograph is usually the person’s face, although the entire body and the background or context may be included.
